Those who are aspire to migration are not people who easily fall somewhere along the spectrum of love for migration. More or less, they experience some kind of internal conflict. Internal conflicts reflect the potential migrant's struggles and doubts as he seeks to realize his migration. This phenomenon is analyzed qualitatively under the theme of "the Struggle to staying and leaving" using narrative analysis based on thematic narrative analysis.
The study participants were purposefully selected from young adults aged 20 to 40 residing in Isfahan who prefer leaving their homeland to staying in it. Findings indicate that the Struggle to staying and leaving stems from doubts about both the participants' lived experiences in their homeland and their imagined future after migration. Doubts regarding the homeland are labeled as "homeland-based doubts," including feelings of attachment to the homeland, close ties with family and friends, a sense of responsibility toward significant others, and a reliable career history. On the other hand, doubts about the destination, termed "destination-based doubts," revolve around concerns like the loss of current bonds, challenges in integration, lack of local support, loneliness and homesickness, difficulties in traveling back home, and financial stability.
