In spite of being considered as a religious obligation, the observance of veil and hijab is challenged in our society today, especially among the young generation. It is necessary to examine this issue apart from the religious and jurisprudential point of view, from the sociological point of view and from the point of view of the young generation. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the factors affecting the positive attitude towards covering and hijab.
Research Methodology; survey, statistical population; All female and male students of the three university levels, based on Cochran's formula and quota sampling, 377 answered the researcher-made questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were confirmed. Data analysis was done with Spss 22 software.
The findings show that the difference in the average positive attitude towards veiling and hijab is different according to educational level, college, marital status, but there is no difference according to gender. Also, the clothing of mother and child also has a significant difference. And we see a kind of generation gap in the discussion of covering between mothers and children.
Regarding the relationship between religiosity and self-esteem variables with a positive attitude towards covering and hijab, a direct and meaningful relationship was observed, but no relationship was observed with the mental health variable.
In the regression model, among the independent variables, religiosity had the greatest effect on the positive attitude towards veiling and hijab, followed by marital status, degree, college, gender, mental health, and self-esteem in explaining the dependent variable.
