Critical Discourse Analysis of Shahid Raisi's Speeches at the United Nations: Implications for the Future Governance of Iran

Abstract
The present study analyzes the critical discourse of the speeches of the late Iranian President, Martyr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, at the United Nations General Assembly during the years 1400-1402, using Norman Fairclough's theoretical framework, at three levels of description, interpretation, and explanation. The findings show that Martyr Raisi's discourse is based on concepts such as justice, resistance, anti-arrogance, and Islamic convergence, and uses linguistic tools such as value terms, dualistic oppositions, metaphors, and intertextual references to convey the message. This discourse is a reflection of the ideology of the Islamic Republic of Iran and an attempt to influence international structures. Analysis of these speeches reveals key implications for the future governance of Iran, including an emphasis on seeking justice and resistance, strengthening Islamic identity and religious values, an active role in the international order and reforming global structures, an emphasis on security and regional cooperation, a critical approach to the West and discursive confrontation, the importance of family and social values, and the integration of media diplomacy and discourse building.
