Abstract

Attempts have been made in the present paper to explain ethical charter of research in two parts. The first part deals with the ethical merits of research with regard to three categories, i.e., research subject, researcher and the organization in charge of research. The second part of the paper deals with pathology of research. This part focuses on the ethical ‘ought not to’s of researcher and the related organization. A reflection on the behavioral impediments in research would demonstrate the imperative of commitment to ethical values and ‘ought to’s. On the basis of the said arguments the present paper is an attempt to offer a plan for a charter of ethics in research on the basis of Islamic values.
