As one of the most effective religious intellectuals of his time, Ali Shariati presented the idea of Islam as an ideology in a powerful manner. However, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, particularly since 1980s, ideological approach to religion and its necessity has been doubted, faced serious decline and turned into a context for the criticism of the ruling power by some religious intellectuals. Abdul Karim Soroush, the most outstanding religious intellectual of the post-revolution era, launched criticism against ideological religion. The present paper is an attempt to causally explain and describe reasons for the rise and fall of ideological understanding of religion in the above-mentioned two periods in the thoughts of Shariati and Soroush. Content analysis and genealogy was used and also the following<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>indexes in the said two periods was conducted: sociopolitical status, intellectual sources, social circles of the two thinkers and effective social-historical conditions of the two periods. On the basis of the findings of this research, certain causal factors and reasons played an important role in the rise and fall of the ideological understanding of religion and changes in the relationship between religion and power.   دین ایدئولوژیک در فضا و شرایط قبل از انقلاب، در بین روشنفکران دینی جامعه ایران مطرح شد. علی شریعتی به‌عنوان مؤثرترین روشنفکر دینی زمان خویش، ایده اسلام به‌مثابه ایدئولوژی را به‌شکل مؤثر ارائه کرد. نگرش ایدئولوژیک به دین و ضرورت آن اما پس از پیروزی انقلاب اسلامی و استقرار جمهوری اسلامی در ایران، مخصوصاً از دهه 60 شمسی به بعد، دستخوش تردید و تنازلاتی جدی گردید و خود به محملی بدل شد برای نقد قدرت حاکم از سوی برخی از روشنفکران دینی. عبدالکریم سروش شاخص‌ترین چهره روشنفکری دینی دوره پس از انقلاب بود که به نقدِ دین ایدئولوژیک پرداخت. این تحقیق به‌دنبال تشریح دلیلی و تبیین علّی فراز و فرود درک ایدئولوژیک از دین در دو مقطع مذکور و در اندیشه‌های شریعتی و سروش بوده است و این کار را با استفاده از روش تحلیل محتوا و تبارشناسی و بررسی شاخص‌هایی چون: پایگاه اقتصادی ـ اجتماعی، منابع فکری و حلقه اجتماعی این دو متفکر و ملاحظه شرایط تاریخی ـ اجتماعی تأثیرگذار در این دو مقطع به‌انجام رسانده است. بر اساس نتایج حاصل از این پژوهش، مجموعه عوامل دلیلی و علّی مشخصی در فراز و فرود درک ایدئولوژیک از دین مؤثر بوده است و تغییر مناسبات میان دین و قدرت در آن، حائز اهمیت می‌باشد. http://www.jsfc.ir/article_15409_ecee8e3d2a658757f9b45c209ce3b82d.pdf
