The study of the current situation in Iran indicates that despite the growing spread of English language, not only a comprehensive plan has not been prepared to deal with this trend, but also certain aspects of this important issue have been neglected in the existing studies. The present study is an attempt to pursue the following objectives:  introducing the trend though briefly; shedding light on the necessity of promoting English language in different areas, while confirming some cultural, social, political and ideological differences between the Iranian and English-speaking societies; and presenting an effective strategy – based on existing viewpoints and through a critical approach – for dealing with English language, particularly in education sector that plays the most important role in systematic promotion of English language in Iran. گسترش زبان انگلیسی در عصر موسوم به جهانی‌شدن با پیامد‌های متعددی برای نظام‌های زبانی، فرهنگی، اجتماعی، سیاسی و آموزشی همراه شده که ماحصل آن طرح مباحث، جهت‌گیری‌ها و نقدهایی پردامنه در این خصوص بوده است. بررسی شرایط کنونی جامعه ایران بیانگر آن است که با وجود روند رو به‌گسترش زبان انگلیسی، نه‌تنها شاهد تدوین برنامه‌ای جامع درخصوص چگونگی مواجهه با این روند نیستیم، که حتی ابعاد مختلفی از این موضوع در پژوهش‌های موجود مغفول مانده است. از این‌رو، این مقاله ضمن معرفی اجمالی این رویداد، با لحاظ‌نمودن نیاز به زبان انگلیسی در حوزه‌های مختلف از یک‌سو و اذعان به‌وجود تعارض‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی، سیاسی و ایدئولوژیکی جامعه ایران با جوامع انگلیسی زبان از سوی دیگر، بر پایه دیدگاه‌های مطرح‌شده و مبتنی بر رویکرد انتقادی، راهبردی مناسب درخصوص نحوه مواجهه با این زبان به‌ویژه در بخش آموزش که بیشترین نقش را در گسترش نظام‌مند زبان انگلیسی در ایران به‌عهده دارد، ارائه نماید. http://www.jsfc.ir/article_15137_769315063304083a2049bd02b23440ca.pdf
