In this regard, the present paper is an attempt, through analytical-historical approach, to describe the nature and depict the scope and the theoretical framework of the field of knowledge of “philosophy of higher education” and also elucidate particular issues of this field. To this end, in the first place, a number of philosophical studies about higher education are reviewed, and, in the next step, in the light of some viewpoints about the concept of higher education and its relation with other educational programs as well as some viewpoints related to the objectives of higher education, the nature of the philosophy of higher education is studied and analyzed. Furthermore, through elucidation of some issues about basic studies of science and technology in higher education and political-social philosophy of higher education as well as explanation of some philosophical aspects of the status of religion and ethics in higher education, the scope of the field of studies of philosophy of education is depicted. از آنجا که نظام‌‌های آموزش عالی، بخشی از نظام تعلیم و تربیت یک جامعه محسوب می‌شوند، پرداختن به مباحث مربوط به این بخش از منظری فلسفی باید زیرمجموعه فلسفه تعلیم و تربیت قرار داشته باشد. بر این اساس، پژوهش حاضر با رویکردی تحلیلی ـ تاریخی به‌دنبال توصیف ماهیت و ترسیم قلمرو و چارچوب نظری حوزه دانشی «فلسفه آموزش عالی» و تشریح مسائل ویژه این حوزه بوده است. در این‌راستا، ابتدا مجموعه‌ای از مطالعات فلسفی پیرامون آموزش عالی مرور می‌شود. سپس، با نظر به دیدگاه‌هایی درباره مفهوم «آموزش عالی» و نسبت آن با سایر مقاطع تحصیلی و دیدگاه‌هایی مرتبط با اهداف آموزش عالی، ماهیت فلسفه آموزش عالی بررسی و تحلیل می‌گردد. در ادامه، با شرح مباحثی پیرامون مطالعات بنیادین علم و فنّاوری در آموزش عالی و فلسفه سیاسی ـ اجتماعی آموزش عالی و توضیح جنبه‌‌های فلسفی جایگاه دین و اخلاق در آموزش عالی، قلمرو حوزه مطالعاتی فلسفه آموزش عالی ترسیم می‌شود. http://www.jsfc.ir/article_103782_bb0aec0a5fe14ad0aae10a9341c457fc.pdf
