The participants were 28 students of the final year of bachelor program (seventh and eighth semesters), studying in the faculty of humanities. They were selected through targeted sampling method. The necessary data was collected through semi-organized in-depth interviews and analyzed and interpreted through Colaizzi’s seven phase method. The findings of the research regarding the students’ experiences and understanding of the culture of criticism showed that overall, this crucial cultural field faces two main obstacles in the universities, i.e. extra-university challenges and obstacles within the university itself. The extra-university challenges deal with the effect of social and cultural realities and major conditions on the criticism culture in the university and the understanding of the students of those effects. The obstacles within the university include educational factors and the variables related to the university environment in this regard. Integrate, planned endeavors to face the said obstacles can create the necessary grounds for active role of the universities in different fields, particularly in cultural, intellectual and social arenas. رویکرد حاکم بر این پژوهش، کیفی است و با مشارکت 28 نفر از دانشجویان سال آخر (نیمسال هفتم و هشتم) رشته‌های علوم انسانی که از طریق روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند انتخاب شده بودند، انجام گرفته است. شواهد و اطلاعات مورد نظر با استفاده از مصاحبه‌های عمیق نیمه‌ساختار یافته جمع‌آوری و از طریق روش هفت مرحله‌ای کلایزی مورد تجزیه و تحلیل و تفسیر قرار گرفتند. یافته‌های حاصل از بررسی تجارب و ادراکات دانشجویان در مورد فرهنگ نقد نشان داد که مجموعاً این حوزه فرهنگی مهم در دانشگاه‌ها با دو نوع مانع اصلی یعنی چالش‌های فرادانشگاهی و موانع درون‌دانشگاهی مواجه است. چالش‌های فرادانشگاهی، تأثیر واقعیات و شرایط کلان اجتماعی و فرهنگی جامعه بر فرهنگ نقد در دانشگاه و ادراک آن توسط دانشجویان را مورد توجه قرار می‌دهند و موانع درون‌دانشگاهی، شامل عوامل آموزشی و متغیر‌های مرتبط با محیط داخلی دانشگاه‌ها در این زمینه است. تلاش منسجم و برنامه‌ریزی‌شده جهت مقابله با موانع یادشده می‌تواند بستر‌های لازم برای نقش آفرینی دانشگاه‌ها در حوزه‌های مختلف به‌ویژه عرصه فرهنگی، فکری و اجتماعی را فراهم کند. http://www.jsfc.ir/article_130352_25568ad451412dae95f2fe79525d81dd.pdf
